About
Hello, good evening and welcome…
(Unless it’s the morning or the afternoon, of course; in either case, naturally, you’re very welcome too)
So what is George’s Journal? Well, intrepid internet surfer, you’re now a super lucky feller. Yes, that’s right, for you’ve stumbled upon the blog-cum-magazine written by yours truly, St. George – as my online moniker goes. What’s it all about? Well, not to get too Jerry Maguire on you, but its mission statement, generally speaking, is to supply you with my opinions and feelings on Anglo-American culture (much of it retro – from the Sixties, Seventies and Eighties), including film, TV, music, famous figures, events and developments. There may too be a smattering of ‘smart art’ talk from further back – such as Impressionism and Shakespeare, say – but probably not that much, don’t worry. And, on a more serious note (er, maybe), there may too be some political and more modern musing – in moderation. There’s two sides to every coin, but this place isn’t likely to get too serious, don’t worry. Healthy doses of nostalgia, whimsy, fun and frivolity’ll most likely be the order of the day at George’s Journal.
Now, after reading those three paragraphs, a couple of questions have probably struck you. First, has this sort of thing been done before? Unquestionably. Second, has it been done better? No doubt. But I can guarantee you it won’t have been done quite like this before – or maybe ever. Turn on, tune in and read out loud (if you like) then while sipping your favourite tipple. And by all means ‘reply’ – after all, as Bob Hoskins used to maintain, it’s good to talk.
Stay cool, peeps,
George

George,
Let me be the first in congratulating you on your blog.
It may still be in its infancy, but it will grow up so very fast. And even at this young age, I see its potential.
I have already subscribed and I’ll be checking in regularly.
I have to say, so far so good.
Dubbers.
Thank you, dublo – you are indeed a modern gent, there’s no question about that.
As you say, hopefully, it will grow up quickly. I’m looking to get more bits and bobs uploaded just as soon as I can. Keep those peepers peeled!
George
Apart from myself, there seems to be a distinct lack of tits.
Well, for as long as possible methinks I want to keep this a family friendly joint, Ambler – censorship’s a bitch, eh?!
Anyhoo, nice to see you’ve looked me up here, as it were…
Hi, nice to meet you !
Beautiful trip back in time and I had forgotten so much.
